Outpatient Rehab in Fort Lauderdale: When You Need More Than Weekly Therapy

Some seasons call for more structure than a single therapy hour. Our Fort Lauderdale outpatient services give Hollywood patients a coordinated schedule of group therapy, individual sessions, psychiatry, and skills practice while they live at home. For a closer look at day-to-day care, see our Fort Lauderdale outpatient addiction treatment services. Patients searching for outpatient rehab Hollywood, FL will find continuity with the same core team that helped them stabilize in Hollywood.

What Outpatient Alcohol and Drug Rehab in Fort Lauderdale Actually Involves

Care is built around mental health first. Patients participate in CBT, DBT skills, EMDR when clinically appropriate, neurofeedback, and non-mandatory 12-Step or SMART Recovery options. Psychiatric providers manage medications, including anti-craving medications when indicated. Safety planning and relapse prevention are woven through every week.

Who Is Right for Outpatient vs Residential or Medical Detox First

Outpatient is a fit for patients who can stay safe at home, manage transportation, and benefit from near-daily therapy without 24-hour supervision. Residential or medical detox comes first when withdrawal risks, suicidality, or severe instability are present. Alcohol, benzodiazepine, and some opioid withdrawals require medical oversight before step-down. Our team helps you choose the safest starting point.

How CBH's Fort Lauderdale Outpatient Connects to Hollywood Detox and Residential

Hollywood provides medical detox and residential stabilization, then Fort Lauderdale continues PHP, IOP, and OP. Your treatment plan and progress notes travel with you, so you do not start over. The same clinical directors know your story, preferences, and safety needs. Families remain included as active partners at each level.

How We Determine the Right Level of Care

1
Screening

Confidential phone screening with symptoms, substances, and psychiatric history assessment.

2
Benefits Verification

Benefits verified in writing so recommendations aren't shaped by insurance balances.

3
Clinical Assessment

Licensed clinician completes full biopsychosocial and ASAM-informed assessment.

4
Recommendation

PHP, IOP or OP recommended plainly, or referral if medical detox needed first.

5
Admission

Usually scheduled within 24 to 72 hours around your work and family schedule.

PHP & IOP seats open in Hollywood this week.

PHP in Fort Lauderdale: Intensive Outpatient While Living in the Community

Partial Hospitalization (PHP) offers full-day structure without overnight care. Patients work on mood regulation, trauma processing when appropriate, and substance use stabilization while practicing skills at home each evening. Those comparing programs can also consult the SAMHSA Treatment Locator for a national view. CBH’s PHP uses an empowerment-based leveling system that adds privileges as patients demonstrate readiness.

What a Typical Week in PHP Looks Like at CBH Fort Lauderdale

A typical week blends process groups, skills training, individual therapy, psychiatry visits, and experiential services like art and music therapy. Level progression unlocks fuller programming access, community passes, and family involvement. Canine-Assisted Therapy occurs at the addiction residential facility in Hollywood and is coordinated with step-down timing.

Psychiatric Oversight and Medication Management During PHP

Our psychiatric team manages medications for depression, anxiety, PTSD, and substance use, adjusting as symptoms change. For select high-acuity mental health cases, we use GeneSight pharmacogenomic testing to inform safer choices. We also coordinate with trusted community partners for TMS or SPRAVATO referrals when clinically indicated.

Family Therapy Beginning at PHP

Families join structured sessions to learn boundaries, communication, and recovery-supportive routines. Our Compassion Connections program adds biweekly Zoom education and a 6-week curriculum to align the home environment with treatment goals.

IOP in Fort Lauderdale: Applying Recovery Skills to Real South Florida Life

Intensive Outpatient (IOP) helps you practice skills while managing work, school, or caregiving. Sessions occur several days per week with targeted groups and individual therapy focused on mental health drivers of use. See our South Florida outpatient program details to understand how IOP and OP progress together. We maintain psychiatric oversight, peer support, and accountability through the transition.

What a Typical Week in IOP Looks Like at CBH Fort Lauderdale

You attend multiple group sessions, one-to-one therapy, and medication management as needed. Skill practice targets triggers, mood shifts, and daily routines.

Managing Relapse Risk During IOP for Alcohol and Drug Use

We use the motto: make it a lapse, not a relapse. SMART Recovery tools, non-mandatory 12-Step, and rapid care-team response reduce harm.

What Comes After IOP in Fort Lauderdale

Outpatient (OP) continues therapy and psychiatry at a lighter cadence. Alumni support and family involvement help maintain momentum.

Outpatient Alcohol Rehab in Fort Lauderdale

Alcohol recovery strengthens when underlying depression, anxiety, or trauma is treated first. We combine therapy, psychiatry, and community supports with an empowerment model. When alcohol withdrawal risks are present, we begin with alcohol detox in Hollywood before stepping down to PHP or IOP. Care remains individualized at every stage.

What Drives Most Alcohol Use Disorder and Why It Must Be Treated Here

Alcohol use commonly masks untreated depression, anxiety, or trauma. Addressing those conditions reduces cravings and supports sustainable change.

Alcohol and Depression, Anxiety, and PTSD Treatment in Fort Lauderdale

We use CBT and DBT for coping, EMDR for trauma when appropriate, and medications for mood and anti-craving support. Family education helps reshape home routines that trigger drinking.

Outpatient Drug Rehab in Fort Lauderdale

Substance use recovery is strongest when co-occurring mental health needs are stabilized. We follow evidence-based practices summarized by the NCBI Bookshelf and tailor care to each patient. Safety determines whether detox or residential is needed first. Step-down occurs as stability and insight improve.

Opioid and Heroin Outpatient Treatment in Fort Lauderdale

Medication-assisted treatment with buprenorphine or naltrexone can be paired with therapy and recovery supports. Psychiatric oversight addresses depression, anxiety, and trauma that drive return to use.

Cocaine and Stimulant Outpatient Treatment in Fort Lauderdale

We are not a stimulant-first facility, but we do treat co-occurring use alongside mental health care. Evidence-based approaches include CBT, contingency management strategies, and structured relapse prevention.

Benzo and Sedative Outpatient Treatment in Fort Lauderdale

Benzodiazepine cessation often requires medical detox and a slow, physician-directed taper. Outpatient treatment focuses on anxiety management, sleep skills, and closely monitored medication plans.

Dual Diagnosis Outpatient Rehab in Fort Lauderdale

Co-occurring mental health and substance use conditions respond best to integrated treatment. Our approach aligns with guidance from SAMHSA Co-Occurring Disorders and emphasizes safety, skills, and family inclusion. Therapists collaborate with psychiatric providers on one plan. GeneSight testing supports complex medication decisions when needed.

Depression and Substance Use Treatment in Fort Lauderdale

We treat mood first while building sober routines. Behavioral activation, CBT, and medication adjustments reduce relapse risk.

Anxiety and PTSD Alongside Alcohol and Drug Use in Fort Lauderdale

Grounding skills and DBT lower distress so urges pass. EMDR may begin once stabilization and safety are established.

Bipolar Disorder and Substance Use Treatment in Fort Lauderdale

Mood stabilization and sleep structure come before trauma or addiction processing. Close psychiatric monitoring guides medication changes.

Group therapy session

Mental health first

Substance use is very often the symptom. Untreated depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD and severe anxiety are why relapse follows a technically successful detox, so psychiatric evaluation happens in the first days of admission here, not at week four.
