Levels of Care at Our Hollywood Addiction Treatment Center
Compassion Behavioral Health is an outpatient addiction treatment and mental health center in Hollywood. Our ladder runs from partial hospitalization through intensive outpatient to standard outpatient care, so the intensity comes down as stability goes up, without anyone leaving their job, their family or their home to get treated. Clients step down inside the same building, with the same clinical team and the same treatment plan.
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
Our most intensive outpatient level: roughly 30 hours a week, five days a week, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. PHP suits clients who are medically stable but need daily clinical structure, group and individual therapy, psychiatry, medication management, and case management, while sleeping at home or in supportive housing nearby. Most clients stay two to four weeks before stepping down.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
Nine to twelve hours a week across three or four days, in a morning track or an evening track that starts at 5:30 pm. IOP is built for people who are working, studying, or parenting through treatment. Most clients stay six to eight weeks, and the evening schedule means no one has to explain a mid-afternoon absence to an employer.
Outpatient Program (OP)
One to three hours a week of continuing therapy and psychiatry: the maintenance rung. OP maintains gains made in PHP and IOP, monitors for early warning signs, and keeps medication management in place for as long as it is clinically useful. Telehealth sessions are available across Broward County.

Most of the people we treat for alcohol use disorder in Hollywood are employed, insured and functioning, which is exactly why the drinking went unaddressed for years. Our outpatient alcohol program treats the disorder without removing anyone from their life: PHP or IOP scheduling, psychiatric care for the depression or anxiety underneath it, and medication where it helps.

Drinking more or longer than intended, failed attempts to cut back, morning shakes or sweats, needing more to feel the same effect, and continuing despite consequences at work or at home. Alcohol Rehab Without Time Away From Work
Evening IOP runs from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm, so treatment fits around a working day. Naltrexone, acamprosate, and disulfiram are prescribed where clinically indicated, and relapse-prevention plans are written against real triggers- the commute, the client dinner, the standing Friday, then rehearsed before you face them. Drug Rehab and Substance Abuse Treatment in Hollywood, FL
Outpatient drug rehab treats what comes after the substance is out of the body: the driver underneath the use, tolerance for distress, and the specific situations across Broward County a client will face on the drive home. Opioids, Fentanyl and Heroin
Suboxone or Vivitrol maintenance with weekly psychiatry, plus overdose-prevention planning and naloxone for the household. Fentanyl exposure is assumed unless testing says otherwise.

Oxycodone, hydrocodone, and tramadol dependence that began with a legitimate prescription, handled without judgment and in coordination with the prescriber when the client agrees.
Benzodiazepines and Prescription Sedatives
Never stop abruptly. We coordinate a medically supervised taper with a licensed detox provider first, then treat the anxiety or insomnia that drove the use.
Cocaine, Methamphetamine and Stimulants
The crash brings anhedonia and suicidal thinking, so monitoring here is as much psychiatric as medical. Contingency management and a structured routine do the heavy lifting.
Cannabis, Kratom and Polysubstance Use
The most common presentation we see. Interacting patterns are sequenced by the psychiatrist rather than treated as separate problems.
Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT)
Suboxone and buprenorphine, Vivitrol and naltrexone, acamprosate and disulfiram, prescribed on site and continued as clients step down through IOP and OP.
Dual Diagnosis Treatment in Hollywood: Integrated Mental Health Services

What Is a Co-Occurring Disorder?
A co-occurring disorder, or dual diagnosis, is a substance use disorder alongside a mental health condition such as depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, OCD, ADHD, or an anxiety disorder. Neither one is the cause, and neither is the excuse; each makes the other harder to treat in isolation.
Why Treating Both at Once Matters
Sequential treatment sends people out of addiction care to find a psychiatrist, and most never do. Here, medication management, trauma therapy, and substance treatment run concurrently; the psychiatrist is in the building and in the weekly case review, and the therapist knows what changed in the prescription.
Psychiatric Evaluation and Common Combinations
A psychiatric evaluation happens in the first days of admission, not in week four, with medication management reviewed weekly thereafter. The combinations we see most often in Broward County are: depression with alcohol, anxiety with benzodiazepines, trauma with opioids, ADHD with stimulants, and bipolar disorder with polysubstance use.
Mental Health Center in Hollywood, FL: PHP, IOP, and Outpatient Programs
You do not need a substance use disorder to be treated here. Roughly a third of our Hollywood clients come for mental health care alone, at the same three levels of intensity: mental health PHP for daily structure, mental health IOP in morning or evening tracks, and outpatient therapy with psychiatry for ongoing care.

All three of these treatments are delivered on site at our Hollywood center: transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), a non-invasive course of magnetic pulses for treatment-resistant depression; SPRAVATO® (esketamine), administered in a REMS-certified setting with monitored recovery; and neurofeedback, EEG-guided regulation training for trauma, attention and sleep dysregulation.

Clients with treatment-resistant depression, persistent PTSD symptoms, or medication side effects they cannot tolerate. TMS and SPRAVATO® are covered by most commercial plans when criteria are met, and our team handles the prior authorisation. All three run alongside therapy and psychiatry rather than replacing them.

Coming to Us After Detox
Compassion Behavioral Health does not provide medical detoxification or residential treatment. We assess for medical stability, coordinate placement with licensed detox providers throughout South Florida, and admit clients into PHP, IOP, or OP once they are cleared.
Do You Need Medical Detox First?
If you are drinking daily and heavily, or using opioids, benzodiazepines, or sedatives, the answer is usually yes. Our screening call establishes this in about ten minutes.
How We Coordinate Detox with Licensed Providers
We hold working relationships with licensed detox providers across Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach counties, verify your benefits once for both stays, and make the referral directly.
Transitioning Into Our Programs After Detox
Your assessment is completed while you are still in detox so admission here happens on the day you are discharged, the window where relapse risk is highest.
Starting Directly in PHP or IOP
Many clients are medically stable and do not need detox at all. If that is you, admission is usually within 24 to 72 hours.
Mental health first
Substance use is very often the symptom. Untreated depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD and severe anxiety are why relapse follows a technically successful detox, so psychiatric evaluation happens in the first days of admission here, not at week four.
