My experience with the the Case Manager Elena Morales was amazing, she is extremely helpful and most importantly she truly CARES which is hard to find in facilities like these. Especially being that she is the only case manager on staff. She went out of her way to get me a dental appointment and get me food stamps. She also got my cell phone turned back on which was way above and beyond. I can't say enough wonderful things about Elena's professionalism and just all around amazing treatment for her clients

My time at CBH was a positive experience overall. After a mental health crisis, you are connected with a team of professionals who truly want to help people get better. They provide tools, coping strategies, and life skills for a wide variety of mental health struggles. My therapist that was especially helpful to my healing process was Sarah, I could not have been able to get through this without her. Further the facilitators Jake, Raquel, and wellness coach Kelly were all good people that taught you valuable skills in and out of CBH.

The staff was always kind and very responsive with all my needs, the food was good and there was always snacks and ice cream on deck. Everything was very clean and they even do your laundry for you. I definitely recommend CBH to anyone taking their first steps into recovery.

I went to compassion for my mental health, I improved a lot with my emotions and learned to control myself. Elena the case manager helped me organize my appointments for my physical health and is a really nice gal. Jake the facilitator also is the best I always want to be in his groups because it’s very entertaining and also a lot of good insights on how to be a better person, some of the topics he gives is a reality check and it will make you process a lot. Overall the place is really nice and they are compassionate just like there name.

Addiction Rehab in South Florida: Mental Health-First Treatment for Every Substance at CBH

Most addiction rehab programs in South Florida treat the addiction. Compassion Behavioral Health treats what is driving it.

Every substance that produces addiction, alcohol, heroin, cocaine, opioids, benzodiazepines, amphetamines, sedatives, serves a function before it becomes a problem. Depression lifts. Anxiety quiets. PTSD flashbacks slow down. ADHD resolves. Chronic pain becomes manageable. The substance is rarely the root. It is the solution someone found for a mental health condition that was never properly treated. Remove the substance without treating the mental health condition, and the reason the person was using it remains. Relapse is predictable.

CBH was founded on that clinical observation, and every program we offer is built around it. At our Hollywood residential and detox facility, and at our Fort Lauderdale PHP and IOP programs, the mental health condition is the primary diagnosis. Substance use is treated as the co-occurring condition, it almost always is, with equal clinical weight from the first day of admission. Our outcomes are third-party verified: 159% improvement in depression outcomes, 167% improvement in anxiety outcomes, and 88% improvement in PTSD outcomes, measured by Greenspace Health across more than 1,000 patient surveys. These are the mental health conditions most commonly driving substance use in our client population. Call 844-503-0126 for a free clinical assessment. All calls are completely confidential.

Why CBH’s Addiction Rehab in South Florida Is Different

South Florida has a high concentration of behavioral health and addiction treatment facilities. Most were built around addiction treatment and added mental health services as an expansion. CBH was built the other way around. Mental health is the primary clinical identity. Substance use is treated as the co-occurring condition it is.

Dr. Daud, CBH’s Medical Director, is board-certified in both psychiatry and addiction psychiatry. That dual specialization is not a credential detail. It means that every client’s treatment plan is built from a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation outward, with every co-occurring mental health condition identified and addressed alongside the substance use disorder from the first day of admission.

  • 29-bed boutique residential program in Hollywood with caseloads of 8 to 10 clients per therapist
  • The Clinical Director knows every client by name
  • Same clinical team and same psychiatrist from detox through IOP at every level of care
  • Medical detox in Hollywood for substances requiring medically supervised withdrawal: alcohol, benzodiazepines, opioids, heroin, and sedatives
  • EMDR for trauma-driven substance use at PHP and IOP in Fort Lauderdale
  • Neurofeedback for nervous system dysregulation and PTSD hyperarousal
  • GeneSight genetic testing for clients with treatment-resistant co-occurring mental health conditions
  • PsychArmor certified for military-competent care, VA CCN provider, TRICARE East accepted
  • In-network with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Optum, Curative, TRICARE East, and the VA
  • Joint Commission accredited, NAMI affiliated, AHCA, and DCF licensed
  • 633 or more Google reviews across both South Florida locations

Struggling with Substance Use Disorders?
We can help

Alcohol Addiction Treatment in South Florida

Alcohol is one of the most effective short-term solutions to untreated mental health conditions that exist. Depression lifts temporarily. Anxiety becomes manageable. PTSD flashbacks slow down. Over time, alcohol worsens every condition it temporarily relieves and produces a cycle of deepening dependence and worsening mental health that standard addiction treatment, which focuses on the alcohol rather than the conditions driving it, reliably fails to break.

CBH’s alcohol addiction treatment in South Florida begins with medically supervised detox in Hollywood, where alcohol withdrawal is managed with 24/7 physician oversight and CIWA monitoring. Seizure risk is real in physically dependent drinkers and requires medical management. Psychiatric assessment begins during detox. The depression, anxiety, or PTSD driving the drinking is identified and addressed alongside the alcohol use disorder from day one.

Heroin Addiction Treatment in South Florida

Heroin produces addiction in people who have found that it resolves something that nothing else has resolved: the PTSD that has been unmanageable for years, the depression that no antidepressant has adequately treated, the chronic pain that has outlasted every other option. For veterans, sexual assault survivors, and childhood trauma survivors, heroin often provides the first genuine relief from the PTSD symptoms they have experienced. Treating the heroin use without treating the PTSD is the single most common reason heroin treatment fails.

CBH’s heroin addiction treatment in South Florida includes medically supervised opioid detox in Hollywood with COWS monitoring and MAT options, dual-diagnosis residential treatment, and EMDR for trauma-driven heroin use at PHP and IOP in Fort Lauderdale. CBH is PsychArmor certified and accepts TRICARE East and VA Community Care Network authorizations. Verified outcome: 88% improvement in PTSD symptoms.

Cocaine Addiction Treatment in South Florida

Cocaine produces addiction in people whose brains are already seeking something: relief from depression, stimulation for an ADHD nervous system, escape from PTSD, temporary confidence for anxiety that has made daily functioning exhausting. The dopamine surge cocaine provides temporarily resolves the deficit that the mental health condition creates. Over time, cocaine depletes the dopamine system and worsens the underlying condition, producing a cycle that standard addiction treatment, which focuses on the cocaine, does not adequately address.

CBH’s cocaine addiction treatment in South Florida includes dual-diagnosis residential treatment in Hollywood, addressing depression, ADHD, PTSD, anxiety, and bipolar disorder alongside the cocaine use disorder simultaneously. EMDR is available at PHP and IOP in Fort Lauderdale for trauma-driven cocaine use. Cocaine does not produce the same medical detox requirements as alcohol or opioids, but the psychological withdrawal requires structured clinical support from day one.

Opioid Addiction Treatment in South Florida

Opioid addiction in South Florida arrives through multiple pathways: a prescription for OxyContin after surgery that became dependence, fentanyl found in a supply that was supposed to be something else, prescription painkillers that transitioned to heroin when accessibility changed. Each pathway arrives at the same clinical reality: an opioid use disorder with co-occurring mental health conditions that require simultaneous treatment.

CBH’s opioid addiction treatment in South Florida includes 24/7 medically supervised detox in Hollywood with COWS monitoring and MAT options, dual-diagnosis residential treatment, and PHP and IOP in Fort Lauderdale. EMDR for PTSD-driven opioid use is available at the outpatient levels. The same clinical team and the same psychiatrist serve clients from the first day of detox through the last day of IOP.

Benzodiazepines Rehab in Florida: Benzo Detox and Dual Diagnosis Treatment

Benzodiazepine addiction is one of the most misunderstood substance use disorders because it almost always begins with a legitimate prescription. Xanax for panic attacks. Klonopin for generalized anxiety. Valium for sleep. Ativan for acute anxiety episodes. The medication works well enough that stopping it becomes difficult, then dangerous, without clinical help. What most people do not know is that benzodiazepine withdrawal can cause seizures, the same risk as alcohol withdrawal, and requires medically supervised taper.

CBH’s benzodiazepine rehab in South Florida includes medically supervised benzo detox in Hollywood with individualized taper protocols, dual-diagnosis residential treatment addressing the anxiety disorder or PTSD driving the dependence, and PHP and IOP in Fort Lauderdale, building the non-benzodiazepine anxiety management tools that make lasting recovery possible. CBH treats the full benzo class: Xanax, Klonopin, Valium, Ativan, Restoril, and Halcion.

For adults in Broward County and throughout South Florida seeking benzo detox and dual-diagnosis treatment, CBH’s Hollywood and Fort Lauderdale programs serve clients from Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, Boca Raton, Pompano Beach, and surrounding areas. Verified outcome: 167% improvement in anxiety symptoms.

Amphetamine Addiction Treatment in South Florida

Amphetamine addiction in South Florida most commonly arrives through a prescription. Adderall for ADHD that became something more. Vyvanse was taken beyond the prescribed dose because it also helped with energy, focus, and everything else that felt out of control. The prescription pathway to stimulant dependence is more common than the street drug pathway, and it carries its own specific clinical picture: an ADHD, depression, or anxiety diagnosis that the stimulant was addressing functionally, and that needs to be treated through non-stimulant clinical means when the stimulant is removed.

CBH’s amphetamine addiction treatment in South Florida addresses the ADHD, depression, anxiety, or bipolar disorder driving stimulant use alongside the amphetamine use disorder from day one. Non-stimulant ADHD medications and CBT for executive functioning deficits are established during residential treatment in Hollywood. PHP and IOP in Fort Lauderdale develop the non-stimulant performance and attention management strategies for real-world professional and academic functioning.

Sedative Addiction Treatment in South Florida

Most people who develop dependence on Ambien, Lunesta, Restoril, or other sleep medications did not intend to become dependent. The prescription was for legitimate insomnia. The medication worked. And then stopping it produced rebound insomnia and anxiety worse than anything before the prescription. What most people dependent on Ambien do not realize is that Z-drugs like Ambien and Lunesta act on the same GABA receptor system as benzodiazepines and can produce similar withdrawal risks, including seizures in cases of abrupt discontinuation after significant physical dependence.

CBH’s sedative addiction treatment in South Florida includes medically supervised taper management in Hollywood, dual-diagnosis residential treatment addressing the anxiety disorder, PTSD, or depression driving the insomnia, and PHP and IOP in Fort Lauderdale, building sustainable non-sedative sleep and anxiety management. CBT for insomnia and neurofeedback for anxiety and PTSD hyperarousal are integrated into treatment plans for clients whose sleep disorder requires specific clinical attention.

Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) in South Florida

Medication-assisted treatment combines FDA-approved medications with counseling and behavioral therapies to address opioid and alcohol use disorders. At CBH in South Florida, MAT options, including buprenorphine-based medications for opioid use disorder, are available when clinically indicated as part of the comprehensive dual-diagnosis treatment plan. MAT is never used as a standalone treatment at CBH. It is a clinical tool that is integrated into the broader psychiatric and therapeutic treatment framework managed by Dr. Daud.

CBH’s MAT program in South Florida is part of the residential and outpatient continuum in Hollywood and Fort Lauderdale. Medication decisions are made by the prescribing psychiatrist based on the individual client’s clinical presentation, substance use history, and co-occurring mental health diagnoses. Call 844-503-0126 for more information about MAT availability at CBH.
