Levels of Care in Miami

As a Miami Addiction Rehab Center grounded in mental health first, we serve Miami patients at our Fort Lauderdale campus with PHP, IOP, and OP. Care plans are individualized, and our clinical directors know every patient by name and story. Our empowerment-based PHP leveling model allows patients to earn added privileges and family therapy as skills grow. Explore how these options fit together in our levels of care.

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

PHP provides the most structure in our outpatient continuum. Patients stabilize mood, practice coping skills, and build routines with daily therapeutic groups and individual sessions. Level 3 unlocks family therapy and additional community privileges through our empowerment model. Medication management and psychiatric oversight are integrated.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

IOP supports continued progress while re-engaging with work, school, or family life. Patients attend several days weekly for group therapy, individual sessions, and skill-building. Relapse-resistant routines are emphasized, with compassionate adjustments if setbacks occur. Medication management continues as clinically appropriate.

Outpatient Program (OP)

OP offers step-down support through ongoing therapy and medication management. Patients refine relapse-prevention plans, strengthen social support, and maintain accountability. Therapists carry minimal caseloads to keep care highly responsive. Discharge planning begins early to sustain gains beyond formal treatment.

Alcohol Treatment in Miami

Alcohol use often overlaps with depression, anxiety, or trauma, so treatment starts with a full psychiatric assessment. Our team uses evidence-based therapy and medication management when appropriate to address both alcohol use and underlying mental health conditions. For immediate support anywhere in Miami, the SAMHSA National Helpline is a confidential, 24/7 resource.

Signs of Alcohol Use Disorder

Common signs include drinking more than intended, cravings, repeated attempts to cut back, and impact on work or relationships. Many patients also report sleep disruption, anxiety spikes, and mood swings.

Flexible Support Without Time Away From Work

Our IOP and OP allow patients to stay engaged in daily responsibilities while receiving meaningful care. Therapists tailor pacing to your stress load, triggers, and living situation.

Medication-Assisted Treatment and Relapse Prevention

Medications for alcohol use disorder may include naltrexone or acamprosate alongside therapy. GeneSight testing informs complex medication decisions, and our relapse approach is compassionate: make it a lapse, not a relapse.

Drug Rehab and Substance Use Treatment in Miami

Substance use is treated alongside the mental health conditions that drive it. Our team provides therapy, medication strategies for certain substances, and structured relapse prevention. Learn how we approach stabilization and recovery through Fort Lauderdale drug treatment for Miami patients. This Miami Addiction Rehab Center perspective keeps your mood, trauma history, and stressors central to the plan.

Opioids

MAT options and therapy target cravings, pain, and mood. We coordinate safe tapering and coping skills for long-term stability.

Benzodiazepines

Careful medical oversight addresses dependence risks and underlying anxiety. Therapy builds non-pharmacologic strategies to manage panic and sleep.

Methamphetamine

Treatment focuses on mood stabilization, sleep restoration, and cognitive-behavioral skills. We emphasize structure and routine to reduce triggers.

Fentanyl

High-potency risks require medical evaluation and a safety-first plan. We integrate overdose education and harm-reduction strategies.

Alcohol

Alcohol use is addressed with therapy, medications when appropriate, and strong relapse-prevention planning. Family involvement supports accountability.

Cannabis

Care addresses anxiety, motivation, and sleep concerns tied to heavy use. We build balanced routines that support mental clarity.

Dual Diagnosis Treatment in Miami

Co-occurring disorders involve a mental health condition and substance use happening together. Integrated care improves outcomes by treating both at the same time. For a concise overview of this approach, see SAMHSA Co-Occurring Disorders. Our team individualizes care so recovery is practical, compassionate, and sustainable.

What Is a Co-Occurring Disorder?

Many Miami patients present with anxiety, depression, PTSD, or bipolar symptoms alongside substance use. We start with a psychiatric assessment to clarify drivers and set priorities.

Why Treat Both at Once

When mood stabilizes, cravings often follow. Addressing trauma and stress reduces relapse risk, and our relapse philosophy remains shame-free and skill-focused.

Psychiatric Evaluation and Medication Management

Board-certified providers guide medications with careful monitoring. GeneSight testing supports medication selection in complex mental health cases, especially with prior side effects.

Mental Health Center in Miami: PHP, IOP, and OP

Miami residents face real mental health needs, and accessible care matters. Data from MHStats: Florida highlight statewide challenges that we meet with evidence-based programming. Our outcomes show marked improvements in depression, anxiety, and PTSD symptoms across treatment. Patients benefit from minimal therapist caseloads and coordinated medication management.

Mental Health PHP and IOP

Structured days build coping skills, stabilize sleep, and lower anxiety. Our PHP leveling system empowers patients to earn passes and family therapy through consistent progress.

Conditions We Treat

We treat depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD, bipolar spectrum disorders, and ADHD. LGBTQIA+ affirming care and Friday gender-specific groups ensure safety and relevance.

Advanced Treatments in Miami: TMS, SPRAVATO, and Neurofeedback

CBH works with NeuroHealth in Fort Lauderdale for TMS and SPRAVATO referrals when appropriate. These services are not provided on-site at CBH. We do offer neurofeedback, which can support focus, mood regulation, and sleep as part of a comprehensive plan. Providers individualize recommendations to each patient’s goals and history.

TMS and SPRAVATO Referrals

For treatment-resistant depression, we refer to NeuroHealth for TMS or SPRAVATO evaluation. Coordination ensures continuity with your CBH therapy and medication providers.

Neurofeedback at CBH

Neurofeedback trains brainwave patterns to improve regulation and resilience. It pairs well with CBT, DBT, and trauma-focused therapies.

Therapies and Specialty Programs

Therapy is practical and skills-forward: CBT, DBT, EMDR, neurofeedback, SMART Recovery, art, music, and mobile fitness. Family joins as part of the team through Compassion Connections, our bi-weekly support program. We are LGBTQIA+ affirming, host Friday gender-specific groups, and support veterans through Spencer, a 21-year Army veteran, with VA navigation and TRICARE East accepted. For patients stepping down after stabilization, see our residential program in Hollywood for mental health residential care.

CBT and DBT

Build coping skills for triggers, urges, and relationships. Patients practice real-world tools that lower distress and improve decision-making.

EMDR for Trauma

EMDR helps process traumatic memories safely. Many patients experience relief from hyperarousal, shame, and avoidance.

Canine Assisted Therapy (Residential)

At residential, CAT sessions foster connection and nervous system regulation. Skills carry forward into PHP and IOP routines.

Family Support and Peer Options

Compassion Connections strengthens communication at home. SMART Recovery is available, and 12-Step participation is always optional.

Coming to Us After Detox

If medical withdrawal support is needed first, we coordinate with licensed providers nearby. Learn more about safe options through our detox programs in South Florida. After stabilization, patients transition directly into PHP or IOP for integrated mental health and substance use care. Admissions helps align timing, housing needs, and family involvement.

Do You Need Medical Detox First?

Our clinicians screen for withdrawal risks and recommend the safest path. Stabilization comes before therapy intensity.

Smooth Transition to PHP or IOP

We coordinate records, medications, and a clear first-week plan. Continuity reduces gaps that can trigger setbacks.

Insurance and Admissions Coordination

We verify benefits and discuss payment options. Financial transparency helps families plan confidently.

What Your First Day Looks Like

You will meet your therapist, review goals, and finalize your schedule. Orientation emphasizes safety, dignity, and next steps.

Group therapy session

Mental health first

Substance use is very often the symptom. Untreated depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD and severe anxiety are why relapse follows a technically successful detox, so psychiatric evaluation happens in the first days of admission here, not at week four.

"If you treat the drinking and ignore the trauma underneath it, you have bought the family six months."

My experience here at CBH has been fantastic. The support from everyone during my time of need is much needed. I've been on the streets due to mental health and substance issues. They've been more than happy to help with my current legal issues with Case Management. If you are currently going through the struggle this treatment center is going to go the extra mile. I highly recommend CBH for anyone who needs help with substance abuse and/or mental health issues.
