What Makes CBH Different

Most Florida centers were built to treat substance use and added a psychiatrist later. We were built the other way around, and it changes every decision that follows.

How Most Centers Work
Detox first, diagnosis later
The substance is treated as the problem. Underlying conditions surface after discharge.
Psychiatry on referral
A consulting physician visits weekly. Medication decisions wait.
Dual diagnosis as an add-on
Marketed as a specialty; delivered as an extra group.
Outcomes you have to take on faith
Success rates quoted with no source and no survey count.
How CBH Works
Diagnosis drives the plan
We treat the depression, trauma or bipolar disorder the use is answering.
Psychiatric care from day one
Five PMHNP-BC prescribers on staff under a dual board-certified medical director.
Dual diagnosis is the standard
Every client is screened and treated for co-occurring conditions. No upcharge, no waitlist.
Outcomes verified by a third party
Greenspace Health measured 1,043 patient surveys and published the report.
"We don't ask people to get sober and hope the depression lifts. We treat the reason they were drinking."
Dr. Jawad Daud, MD, Medical Director
The Method

Our Clinical Model

We treat the condition driving the use

Substance use is usually the visible edge of an untreated mood, trauma or psychotic disorder. A full psychiatric assessment comes before the treatment plan, not after it.

Dual diagnosis as standard, not a specialty

Every client is screened for co-occurring disorders on admission and both conditions are treated by the same team, in the same plan, at the same time.

Psychiatric care from day one

Dr. Jawad Daud is board-certified in both Psychiatry and Addiction Psychiatry. Five psychiatric nurse practitioners prescribe and adjust across residential and outpatient.

Why detox alone fails

Detox clears the body in days. It does nothing for the disorder underneath, which is why we build the step-down before you arrive, not at discharge.

Canine Assisted Therapy

The easiest room to walk into

For a lot of people the first week is the hardest thing they've done. A dog asks nothing of you. Clients who will not talk in group will sit on the floor and talk to her.

Structured, not just sweet

Light is a certified therapy dog who works with a trained handler. Sessions are built into the weekly schedule and used deliberately in trauma and anxiety work: grounding, co-regulation, and practice at being present.

Paying For Treatment

One short form, one phone call to your carrier, and a written summary of exactly what your plan covers: deductible, coinsurance and authorised days. No cost, no obligation.

Mental health parity and what it covers

Federal parity law requires most plans to cover behavioral health on the same terms as medical care. Many people are covered for far more than they assume, including residential.

Private pay options

Transparent self-pay rates, monthly payment plans and third-party healthcare financing. Our admissions team will give you a real number before you commit to anything.

Verify your benefits. Free, confidential, 60 seconds.
