My experience with the the Case Manager Elena Morales was amazing, she is extremely helpful and most importantly she truly CARES which is hard to find in facilities like these. Especially being that she is the only case manager on staff. She went out of her way to get me a dental appointment and get me food stamps. She also got my cell phone turned back on which was way above and beyond. I can't say enough wonderful things about Elena's professionalism and just all around amazing treatment for her clients

My time at CBH was a positive experience overall. After a mental health crisis, you are connected with a team of professionals who truly want to help people get better. They provide tools, coping strategies, and life skills for a wide variety of mental health struggles. My therapist that was especially helpful to my healing process was Sarah, I could not have been able to get through this without her. Further the facilitators Jake, Raquel, and wellness coach Kelly were all good people that taught you valuable skills in and out of CBH.

The staff was always kind and very responsive with all my needs, the food was good and there was always snacks and ice cream on deck. Everything was very clean and they even do your laundry for you. I definitely recommend CBH to anyone taking their first steps into recovery.

I went to compassion for my mental health, I improved a lot with my emotions and learned to control myself. Elena the case manager helped me organize my appointments for my physical health and is a really nice gal. Jake the facilitator also is the best I always want to be in his groups because it’s very entertaining and also a lot of good insights on how to be a better person, some of the topics he gives is a reality check and it will make you process a lot. Overall the place is really nice and they are compassionate just like there name.

I am very very happy that I came to this place for treatment. I had kept my life on pause for a long time and Compassion helped remind me why life was worth living again. I loved all the friends I made here, the groups were amazing! Shout out to my therapist Shauna! Shoutout to the group counselors Gary and Kelly! I LOVEDDDDD the Yoga sessions. Thank you Sebastian for teaching me to play ping pong. Thank you Cindy for going above and beyond and baking us desserts and setting up games. Thank you Elena for helping me when I needed to order items. I really did enjoy my time here a lot, I am so glad I came. Thank you all so much.

Rehabs That Accept Oscar Health Insurance: What's Covered for Mental Health and Addiction

Insurance details should never stand between you and stabilizing your mental health. If you have an Oscar Health plan, clear answers about what it covers for therapy, detox, and higher levels of care can help you make a safe, timely decision. Rehabs that take Oscar Insurance generally work within your plan’s network to reduce out-of-pocket costs while prioritizing evidence-based, compassionate care.

Coverage varies by plan, but most Oscar members can access behavioral health benefits for conditions like depression, anxiety, PTSD, and co-occurring substance use. That can include medical detox, residential mental health treatment, Partial Hospitalization (PHP), and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) when medically necessary. A quick benefits check and preauthorization can help you start safely and avoid surprise bills, so you can focus on feeling better.

When a care team coordinates authorization and explains your benefits clearly, you can step into treatment with confidence. The right program will match your clinical needs to the appropriate level of care and support you through each transition, working with your insurance every step of the way.

Patient reviewing Oscar Health insurance benefits with a behavioral health admissions coordinator

Does Oscar Insurance Cover Drug Rehab, Detox, and Mental Health Treatment?

Oscar typically covers behavioral health services, including therapy, psychiatric care, and structured programs, when they are medically necessary and authorized. For patients with co-occurring substance use, Oscar plans often cover medical detox and rehabilitation services alongside primary mental health treatment. Network status, prior authorization, and clinical criteria guide what is approved, but coverage options are robust for in-network care.

Most plans distinguish levels of care to match symptom severity, safety needs, and functional impairment. Mental health remains the primary focus, with integrated care for substance use to stabilize mood, reduce cravings, and improve daily functioning. To see how this applies locally, review Oscar coverage now accepted for South Florida behavioral health treatment.

Rehabs that take Oscar Insurance usually coordinate benefits directly with the insurer to confirm eligibility, patient responsibility, and any clinical documentation required. This coordination helps prevent gaps in care and supports a smoother admission, especially after a recent crisis or hospitalization.

What Oscar Health Plans Typically Pay for at CBH: PHP, IOP, Residential, and Detox

Oscar plans often authorize care across our full continuum, from medical detox and residential mental health treatment in Hollywood to PHP, IOP, and outpatient services in Fort Lauderdale. Patients benefit from one coordinated care team, minimal therapist caseloads, and individualized plans that evolve as symptoms improve. Our PHP empowerment model uses levels to add privileges like family therapy and passes when patients demonstrate readiness, not as a punishment.

Covered services may include psychiatry, medication management, and evidence-based therapies like CBT, DBT, EMDR, Neurofeedback, and SMART Recovery. Residential programming at our mental health facility can also include Canine Assisted Therapy two times per week, plus music and art therapies when clinically appropriate. We hold accreditations from JCAHO, AHCA, and DCF, are NAMI-aligned, PsychArmor-trained for military competence, and offer GeneSight testing in select high-acuity cases when clinically indicated.

Care is customized rather than time-limited, and many Oscar members can step down safely as they progress. To understand how each step fits your needs and benefits, you can explore our levels of care and speak with our admissions team.

How Mental Health Parity Laws Require Oscar to Cover Behavioral Health Treatment

Federal parity laws require health insurers to cover mental health and substance use disorder treatment at levels comparable to medical and surgical care. This includes treatment limits, prior authorization standards, and cost-sharing that cannot be more restrictive than medical benefits. For Oscar members, that means access to appropriate behavioral health care when medical necessity is met, without arbitrary barriers that exceed those applied to medical services.

Parity supports access to evidence-based treatment for depression, anxiety, PTSD, and co-occurring substance use within a networked system. Insurers still apply medical-necessity review, but denials must be based on equivalent standards. If you live with both mental health and substance use symptoms, our integrated programming aligns with parity requirements; you can see our dual-diagnosis approach to understand how care is coordinated.

Rehabs that take Oscar Insurance also help patients navigate authorization and appeal processes when needed, ensuring documentation reflects severity, safety risks, and functional impairment. This partnership helps maintain continuity so progress in therapy is not interrupted.

How to Verify Your Oscar Benefits and Start Treatment at Compassion Behavioral Health

Admissions should be simple, private, and fast, especially after a crisis. Our team confirms eligibility, checks copays and deductibles, and coordinates any required preauthorization with Oscar. We match you to the least restrictive level of care that safely meets your needs, then keep your care team consistent as you step down.

To move forward, take these quick steps with our coordinators:

  • Have your Oscar member ID and date of birth ready
  • Share current symptoms, safety concerns, and medications
  • Provide recent discharge notes if you left a hospital
  • Confirm travel plans to Hollywood or Fort Lauderdale
  • Discuss family involvement and scheduling needs

We will verify benefits the same day whenever possible and set an admission time that works for you. To begin, you can securely verify your Oscar benefits and speak with admissions about next steps.

Frequently Asked Questions About Oscar coverage for behavioral health care

Here are quick answers to common questions patients and families ask:

  1. Does Oscar require prior authorization for residential treatment?

Most plans require preauthorization for residential and PHP services. Our team gathers clinical documentation and submits it promptly to reduce delays.

  2. Are medical detox services covered with co-occurring substance use?

Detox is often covered when medically necessary and authorized. Coverage details depend on your plan design and in-network status.

  3. What out-of-pocket costs should I expect with my plan?

Costs depend on your deductible, copay, and coinsurance. We check your benefits upfront and review your estimated responsibility before admission.

  4. Can I use out-of-network benefits if I am not local?

Some plans include out-of-network coverage with higher cost-sharing. When medically appropriate, we can request authorization under your policy’s rules.

  5. How long can treatment last with insurance coverage?

Length of stay is based on clinical need and ongoing medical-necessity review. We adjust your level of care to match safety, stability, and progress.

  6. What information helps verify benefits quickly?

Your member ID, date of birth, and contact information are essential. Recent clinical notes, medications, and hospital discharge papers speed approvals.
