Available Health Insurance Plans Through Kaiser
Thanks to the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and Essential Health Benefits (EHB), everyone in the individual health insurance market has the right to access the coverage they need. No matter which Kaiser plan you have, you may receive mental health treatment or substance abuse treatment.
You can purchase Kaiser health plans through the Health Insurance Marketplace or directly from the insurance company. Kaiser Permanente’s plans are divided into tiers, including Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum. They’re also classified as health savings account (HSA) plans, deductible plans, and copayment plans.
This means you can choose a Gold HSA plan, a Bronze copayment plan, a Platinum deductible plan, or any other combination that meets your unique budget, healthcare needs, and preferences.

In-Network vs. Out-of-Network
If you choose an in-network Kaiser Permanente provider, some or all of your substance abuse and mental health treatment with us will be covered. While you can opt for an out-of-network provider to access the services you need, doing so will cost you more and complicate the claims process.
