There are a number of barriers to addiction treatment, and cost is one of them. It’s very difficult to seek help when you can’t afford to pay the bills. While a rehabilitation program remains a financial investment, there are ways to make it more affordable without sacrificing the quality of care.
One of the most important steps you can take is to select a program that accepts your health insurance. While you might still incur out-of-pocket costs, they’re lower when the treatment center is in-network. This not only reduces your expenses but also ensures you get the most treatment for the money.
Compassion Behavioral Health of Hollywood, FL is committed to offering the highest quality care at an affordable price. The way we do this is by working with a wide range of insurance companies so that our clients’ out-of-pocket costs are significantly reduced. And now we are pleased to announce that we are in-network with all BCBS insurance plans.
CBH Now In-Network with BlueCross BlueShield / My Blue / Florida Blue
BlueCross BlueShield is one of the largest insurance networks in the country. Nearly one in three Americans depend on BCBS for safe, affordable and high quality care. The network has been providing insurance coverage since 1929 and has 35 independent, community-based and locally operated companies.
Compassion Behavioral Health accepts a wide range of insurance companies, including Aetna, Ambetter, United Healthcare, Cigna, Beacon and BlueCross BlueShield. Because we are now in-network with BCBS, we’re able to reduce our clients’ out-of-pocket costs and grant them easier access to the care they need and deserve.
Is BCBS / My Blue / Florida Blue Good Insurance? What Does it Cover?
Generally speaking, BlueCross BlueShield is one of the best health insurance companies in the nation. More than 80 percent of doctors and 90 percent of hospitals contract with BCBS companies – more than other insurers. In 2019, more than 40 BCBS company plans earned moderate to high ratings from NCQA based on clinical quality and member satisfaction.
BlueCross BlueShield offers employer insurance, individual policies and a variety of Medicare plans. As an in-network provider of BCBS, you can now get the best treatment for the money at Compassion Behavioral Health. Some of the services that your insurance plan will help cover are:
- Detoxification. Medical detox provides a safe and supervised environment for safely detoxing from drugs and alcohol. Clients are often given medications to help manage their cravings and withdrawal symptoms. BCBS typically covers some or all of these services.
- Inpatient or residential care. Inpatient or live-in treatment centers typically last from 30 to 90 days, with insurance covering a portion of these costs. Inpatient facilities are recommended for those who have a serious addiction, co-occurring mental health disorder and/or poor home environment.
- Partial hospitalization (PHP). Partial hospitalization programs offer all-day treatment, though clients get to return to their homes at the end of the day. It’s a step down from inpatient care, and insurance usually pays a portion.
- Intensive outpatient program (IOP). IOPs are usually less expensive than inpatient facilities depending on how many days a week you receive therapy. Clients can live at home while receiving personalized treatment most days of the week.
- Outpatient program (OP). OPs are flexible, accommodating and affordable. Some people continue to participate in outpatient care for several months as they transition to their normal routine. Most programs require 10-12 hours of therapy a week, and insurance often covers some of the costs.
Coverage Levels and Plans for BCBS / My Blue / Florida Blue
The BlueCross BlueShield Association is made up of 35 independently owned and operated insurance companies. Their individual and family plans include bronze, silver, gold and platinum plans, with bronze being the lowest. It’s important to consider the type of plan you have, as this will determine how much coverage you get.
- Bronze plans cover close to 60 percent of medical costs and have low monthly payments and high deductibles.
- Silver plans pay roughly 70 percent of medical costs and have a lower deductible with somewhat higher monthly payments.
- Gold plans cover close to 80 percent of medical expenses and have high monthly payments and lower deductibles.
- Platinum plans pay nearly 90 percent of medical bills and have the lowest deductible, but highest monthly payments. They are not available in all states.
The type of plan you have will determine how much you pay out of pocket. The good news is that all BCBS insurance plans cover at least some portion of addiction treatment and mental health services.
