To obtain the behavioral health benefit, call the toll free number for customer service at Humana at 800-777-6330. A customer service representative will help you choose a mental health or substance abuse provider based on your plan.

You can also reach out to one of the admissions counselors at Compassion Behavioral Health. We are happy to help! We can verify your insurance and determine how much coverage you will receive based on your Humana plan. Some of the most common disorders that your behavioral health benefits program addresses are bipolar depression, anxiety and alcohol and drug abuse.

Here are some benefits to Humana Behavioral Health Services:

  • Provides access to a participating behavioral health network that includes doctors, hospitals and mental and substance abuse programs.
  • Coordinates your treatment and services, including hospitalization services.
  • Serves as advocates who monitor your progress and coordinate your care.
  • Answers questions and concerns regarding substance use and mental health disorders.

What Treatment Does Humana Cover?

The treatment that is covered is based on your plan and where you live. Plans with higher monthly premiums and lower deductibles will cost you the least out of pocket. Plans with lower monthly premiums and higher deductibles will cost more. Before insurance kicks in, you must meet your deductible. Here are some of the services that may be covered under your Humana insurance plan:

  • Medical detox
  • Outpatient rehab
  • Inpatient rehab
  • Medication for withdrawal effects
  • Prescription medications
  • Family, group and individual therapy

Does Humana Cover Out-of-Network and Out-of-State Treatment Centers?

Generally speaking, Humana covers treatment centers that are in-network. You can find out which treatment centers are in-network by calling Humana or calling the treatment center directly. In the rare instance that an out-of-network facility is covered, you can expect to pay more out of pocket. For the most cost-effective treatment, choose in-network facilities that are contracted with Humana.

In addition, Humana will not pay for luxury rehabs, executive treatment, over-the-counter medication or New Age therapies. Humana strives to offer the highest quality care that has been backed by science and research. Luxury or private facilities that use experimental approaches will not be supported by your insurance company.

The good news is that many of Humana’s in-network facilities are out-of-state, as Humana does not differentiate based on geography. To be covered, you do not necessarily have to stay in your same location. Some recovering addicts prefer to receive treatment in a new state so they can escape their current environment. On the other hand, other recovering addicts prefer staying local so they can see their families and continue working or going to school.

Humana does require its members to pay their copays and reach their deductible before their contribution kicks in. Depending on your plan, you may have a high deductible and low monthly payments, which means you will pay more out-of-pocket for your treatment costs. If you have a low deductible by high monthly payments, you’ll receive more help once you reach your deductible.

Three Levels of Care to Meet Your Unique Needs

You’ll be pleased to know that Compassion Behavioral Health offers three levels of care that are more affordable than the typical inpatient rehabilitation stay. Not only do we accept Humana insurance but also our clients tend to pay less than others.

Here are the three levels of care that we offer to people struggling with a dual diagnosis, or a diagnosed substance use disorder and mental health disorder.

  • Partial hospitalization. Our highest level of treatment, partial hospitalization includes group, family and individual therapy throughout the week. Psychiatric and medical health services are available, as well as 24-hour monitoring by our Behavioral Health Technicians.
  • Intensive outpatient. A step down from partial hospitalization, our IOP includes weekly group and individual therapy. It’s a great option for those who are returning to work and everyday life but still need support.
  • Outpatient. Outpatient care involves one group and one individual session of counseling each week. These sessions help our clients stay on track with their sobriety goals.

To verify your insurance and find out what levels of care are covered under your Humana insurance plan, call our admissions coordinators at 844-660-0084. All calls are confidential.

Never Doubt the Cost of Treatment. It’s Always Cheaper than Using.

The cost of treatment can be a barrier to getting help, but it shouldn’t be. Drug and alcohol addiction destroys our society, our economy and our social infrastructure. Intervention and treatment are the only way to deal with the problem once it has started.

Did you know that drug overdoses in America kill an average of 174 people a day? The CDC confirms that we have the worst drug epidemic in known U.S. history. Drug addiction is such a problem, it’s listed as one of the top five public health challenges. Even for those who don’t know anyone personally with a drug addiction, this problem affects everyone.

The best way to address these concerns is by making quality treatment more accessible and affordable. Compassion Behavioral Health is here to change the lives for many by providing quality care that accepts most major insurance plans. To learn more about your coverage options through Humana insurance, call us today and speak with one of our friendly, knowledgeable admissions coordinators. Compassion Behavioral Health is not contracted with Humana, therefore bills Humana for services at an out-of-network rate.
