Kristel is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Qualified Supervisor and Certified Addictions Professional.  Ms. Valdelamar has been working in the mental health and substance abuse field since 2007. From a very young age, Ms. Valdelamar knew she wanted her profession to focus on assisting the community in some way. She is passionate about helping others and assisting them through the process of becoming healthy independent individuals. Ms. Valdelamar believes her role is to be a source of empowerment for clients that may not be certain of their own capabilities.   

 Ms. Valdelamar acquired a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice at the University of Central Florida. She continued her education there, as she earned a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology.  She is also certified in Behavioral Forensics and Criminal Profiling. 

 She has served in several capacities—behavioral health technician, assessment counselor, primary therapist and as clinical director. Ms. Valdelamar has also worked in various environments while serving the community– detox facilities, residential treatment settings, in-home community counseling and outpatient therapy. In these various settings she likes to incorporate CBT, motivational interviewing, solution focused therapy, art, and mindfulness skills to the treatment process.
